    Hi, Richard,

Phil Giunta has highly recommended you as a presenter at our 2015 writers’ conference in Allentown, PA. We are wondering if you would be willing to present two 50-minute sessions on Saturday, March 28. We know that you have done a teaching called Writer Beware. Will you do that one? And then, can we talk about a session on world-building, creating scenes, or something relating to the craft of writing fantasy, dark fantasy, sci fi, and all that good stuff?
Before you say yes, let me tell you that we offer an honorarium of $115 per session, and a couple free meals. And, we ask our speakers to come on Friday by 6 p.m., in order to participate in a panel of experts hearing and commenting on first pages of about eight participant’s writings. After that, we would want you to mingle at an opening reception. And then, we want you to generally be available to attendees throughout the day on Saturday. The whole thing ends with a Book Fair at 3:30 Saturday. You are welcome to sign and sell your books at that event.

Thanks for considering this! Call me at XXX-XXX-XXXX, or email me.

    • Brenda,

I’ll be happy to contact you, probably this weekend. I’ve deleted your phone number since I’m not sure you wanted to share it with the world.

Definitely looking forward to this. Phil has told me a lot about it and I’d love to attend.

    Hello Mr. White!

I enjoyed the first Gauntlet novel when it was first released and have read rumors that a second novel was completed. Will that ever be made available to the public?

    Thank you,
    Andrew Tucker

    • Andrew,

I’m glad you enjoyed the Gauntlet novel. It is correct that the second novel in the series was completed and submitted to the publisher. However, with the tragic death of Byron Preiss, his company went into bankruptcy and all the licenses for tie-in material reverted back to the original owners. Unless Midway was interested in continuing the series, either on their own or by bringing in a new licensor, it is highly unlikely the second novel will ever be published.

It is unfortunate, but it is one of the dangers of dealing with licensed material.
